Lombok

Lombok is an island in the West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. It is part of the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands, with the Lombok Strait separating it from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait between it and Sumbawa to the east. Lombok offers interesting scuba diving for beginners to experienced divers. The main diving takes place around the Gili islands which lie in the northwest of Lombok in the strait between Lombok and Bali. Around Senggigi beach in east Lombok there are also a couple of dive sites near to Senggigi beach, there is an interesting muck dive site called Magic Pier. Small creatures like hermit crab, pipefish, ghost pipefish, flathead, cuttlefish, nudibranch, cockatoo waspfish, and several types of scorpionfish.The southern part of Lombok (Belongas), there is a lot of currents and swells for more experienced divers that like to see large pelagics such as hammerhead, sharks, rays and mackerels.

HOW TO GET THERE : Indonesia’s domestic airline can be booked online to Praya Lombok Airport or from Bali’s airport Ngurah Rai near Denpasar.
