GENERAL INFORMATION :
The Komodo Islands boast more than 29 dive sites spread from the northern Komodo island to Rinca island. Located in the Sape Straits, between Flores and Sumbawa, its north border is Flores Sea and south border is Sawu Sea and the Sumba straits. High and low tides on these two seas have created strong currents around Komodo waters.The water is not always warm, it can be cold as well. The seas currents can rage or calm. The strong currents comes with rich nutrients that help the growing of the marine life like fishes, coral reef species, sea mammals like whales and dolphins as well. Komodo waters also hosts sharks, turtles, and manta rays. Some of the area is known for its unique biotas, such as Melibe Ghost Colemani Nudibranch, sea apple, frogfish and rhinopias.

KNOWN DIVE SITES : Batu Bolong, GPS point, Tatawa Besar, Shot Gun, Pillarsteen, Cannibal Rock, Dead men Rock, Manta Alley, Taka Makassar.

BEST SEASON : All year round at Komodo. November to January (good visibility) , January to March ( Northern site) and July and August ( Southern Site )
